Stwiga – a right tributary of the Pripyat that flows in Ukraine, although most of the river flows in Belarus. It is there, near the border with Ukraine, that we begin our rafting. The river is simply stunning; for seventy kilometers it flows north through forest thickets, with ancient oaks on the banks. Along the way, it is in vain to look for villages or even any roads, not to mention telephone coverage.
Further on, Stwiga turns east, and the landscape changes completely to vast meadows and inhabited towns appear. This is one of our favorite kayaking routes.
